Graham  Clarkson

Graham has previously worked as a full time warden for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (RSPB) and as a manager for the Wildlife and Wetlands Trust (WWT). During his time as a RSPB warden Graham organised a popular guided walks programme for RSPB bird groups, local schools and natural history societies. Graham is a founder member of the West Lancashire Wildlife group based at Edge Hill University and a director at Burscough Community Farm where he holds some of his birdwatching and poultry courses. Graham has a BSc Honours Degree in Conservation Biology and his interests include wildlife and habitat conservation including reintroduction projects and the preservation of rare breeds.

Bill is a graduate of Edge Hill University and is currently studying for a Masters Degree in Creative Writing. A visual artist and Photographer, Bill has worked as a Creative Designer for the National Health Service and as a lecturer in HND in Art and Design at West Lancashire College. Bill enjoys exploring the connections between image and word and he uses photography and digital imaging to create visual narratives. Passionate about photography and visual poetry his work has been published nationally and internationally and he has enjoyed exposure as artist in residence at The Wolf poetry magazine in 2016 and is currently curating an art exhibition at Edge Hill Art Centre, ‘And The Word Was’.

Following graduation from Aberystwyth University with a BSc in Countryside Conservation Duncan spent 10 years living and working on RSPB nature reserves around the UK. Since then he has also worked as a Field Ecologist, and a Course Assistant for one of the UK’s top Bushcraft Instructors. Duncan has a deep love of wilderness and low-impact living, and is committed to helping others to connect with and participate consciously in the natural world. In his spare time Duncan is a keen mountaineer, and sea kayak expedition leader. He now balances part time work as a Nature Reserve Manager for Lancashire Wildlife Trust with his own coppicing and woodland craft business.

Simons interest in photography first began when he was eight years old with his first camera and later when he got his first SLR camera age 13. Simons grandparents lived on a Farm in St Helens, Valencia Farm, which was in the family from 1926 until 2014. With so much wildlife to see on the Farm He was definitely in his element. Simon loves to visit wild places and enjoys what the UK countryside has to offer. Simons favourite places are Snowdonia, the Llyn Peninsula in Wales, the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales, Isle of Anglesey, the Western Isles of Lewis and Harris in Scotland as well as Bardsey Island off the Lyn Peninsula. Simon has also visited and photographed in Georgia, Malta, Egypt, Ukraine, Jordan, and Armenia.

A qualified instructor Andrew is a director of Tree Bee an not for profit community interest company that has a core aim of protecting Bumble and Honeybee colonies. Andrew is a full time beekeeper and manages the Tree Bee apiaries in West Lancashire. Andrew has pioneered techniques for removing bee colonies alive and unharmed that have come into conflict situations with mankind. The majority of this work is classed as extreme beekeeping as it is normally carried out at a significant height, removing bees from roof voids, cavity walls, chimneys and churches. Andrew holds an MSc in Environmental Policy Leadership and Legislation from the University of Central Lancashire, he is also a Chartered Environmentalist.
